End the season strong and set the stage for next year’s success

As bowling leagues begin to wind down for the season, now is the perfect time to think about how to bring your bowlers back for another round. League bowlers are some of your most loyal customers—they show up weekly, build relationships within your center, and are a huge part of your recurring business. So how do you make sure they return next season?

One of the most effective things you can do is simply talk to your league bowlers. Have your league coordinator or another key team member personally connect with each bowler. Thank them for bowling with you this season and ask if they plan to return. It’s an easy way to make them feel valued and gives you a better idea of how many people you can count on for next season.

If you discover that a bowler can’t return due to a scheduling conflict—like a new sports schedule or work change—you might be able to offer them a different league night that fits better. Even if they don’t come back to the same league, you may still keep them in your building.

The final night of league play is your chance to leave a lasting impression. Plan something fun for them like a party, a themed night, or a new format or bowling game for a sweeper. Tap into your vendors for support. Many will happily offer food samples or small giveaways. It’s also a great opportunity to test out potential new menu items for next season based on feedback from your league bowlers.

If you’re planning any upgrades or renovations over the summer, let your league bowlers know! Telling them about your improvements reinforces that you’re reinvesting in the center—and in their experience.

You could also hand out thank-you gifts or incentives, like a small, branded keychain, koozie, or even a custom coupon book with deals they can use over the summer. If your center uses a loyalty program, consider dropping in bonus points as a token of appreciation.

If your leagues have room to grow, ask returning bowlers to bring a friend next season. People are far more likely to join a league when they’re personally invited by someone they know. Even a quick mention—”Do you know anyone who might want to join next season?”—can go a long way.

Everyone loves a big event. Why not throw a league-wide appreciation event? Host a fun Sunday afternoon gathering with games, giveaways, and snacks. Create a family-friendly

vibe and invite bowlers to bring their spouses, kids, or friends. It’s a great way to build stronger relationships and keep your center top-of-mind throughout the summer.

Even if league bowlers want a break from the lanes during the off-season, find ways to keep them engaged. Send them updates, summer offers, or sneak peeks of what’s coming in the fall. And make sure your team continues to acknowledge them whenever they visit.

At the end of the day, league bowlers aren’t just customers—they’re part of your bowling family. The more you show appreciation, the more likely they’ll stick around season after season.

The Power of Collaboration

In today’s fast-paced business world, collaboration can be a big part of unlocking new opportunities and driving customer engagement. From major shoe brands teaming up with athletes to unexpected partnerships like Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, collaborations are everywhere—and they’re thriving. But have you ever considered how collaboration can elevate your business?

Partnerships can transform the way centers attract customers and create unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re aligning with local businesses, national brands, or even influencers, the possibilities are endless.

The most successful collaborations often come from thinking outside the box. You don’t always need to partner with a business that is exactly like yours. In fact, some of the most exciting partnerships come from unexpected pairings. Take McDonald’s, for example. They’ve successfully partnered with brands like Pokémon, Barbie, and Hot Wheels to drive engagement with their Happy Meals. Customers flock to their restaurants just to collect limited-edition toys.

Bowling and Entertainment centers can adopt a similar strategy. Imagine partnering with a local coffee shop to create a “Bowling & Brews” night where customers enjoy a special coffee blend while they bowl. Or working with a national adult beverage brand to launch an exclusive themed league night. The key is to recognize that customers are already passionate about brands—they follow them, wear their logos, and engage with their products. The question is: How can your center tap into that loyalty?

Sometimes the best partnerships are right in your own backyard. Consider collaborating with local restaurants that offer “Kids Eat Free” nights. By cross promoting your bowling center with their special offers, you can drive foot traffic to both businesses. For instance, you could offer a free game of bowling to families who dine at the partner restaurant on specific days. In return, they could promote your center through their marketing channels.

Another great option is partnering with local radio stations when an artist comes to town. Hosting an after-party or a VIP meet-and-greet event at your center could create buzz and draw in new customers. It’s a simple yet powerful way to position your center as a go-to entertainment hub.

Your center has valuable real estate that many brands would love to leverage. Digital screens, scoring monitors, kiosks, and video walls (Neoverse) can serve as prime advertising space. Brands will pay top dollar to get their logo in front of your customers. If you have access to data on your foot traffic and demographics, use it to showcase the value of a partnership. You have the audience, and they have the product. Together you can create an incredible customer experience.

One of the biggest hurdles in collaboration is the fear of rejection. Many center owners hesitate to approach brands, assuming they won’t be interested. But here’s the reality—many companies are actively seeking new partnership opportunities. The only way to know if they’re open to collaboration is to ask.

When presenting an idea, make sure you have a clear plan. Outline what you’re looking for, what you can offer in return, and why the partnership makes sense. For example, if you want to collaborate with a well-known beverage brand, show them how many people visit your center weekly, the age demographics, and how you’ll showcase their brand in a unique way.

In today’s age, social media influencers have become a major force in marketing, and your center can tap into this trend. Find local influencers who align with your brand and invite them to host an event, live stream a night at your center, or run a giveaway for their followers. Their endorsement can introduce your center to a whole new audience.

Collaboration isn’t just a trend it’s a proven strategy that helps businesses grow. Whether you’re working with a local business, a major brand, or a digital influencer, partnerships can increase visibility, bring in new customers, and create unforgettable experiences.

So, what’s stopping you? Start brainstorming potential collaborations, reach out to brands with confidence, and don’t be afraid to think big because the worst they can say is no.
